Moo Swapping

A few weeks ago I decided to start swapping some of my moo mini cards and boy have I gotten some great moos in return! This one happened to be from IL but I've received some from many other places in the US and even some from the UK. I think what I love most about swapping moos is it gives me something to look forward to in the mail!

It's Back!

Remember this house in 2006? And in 2005? Well, at least they're consistent. Any crazy houses in your neighborhood? I want to see them!

Pay it Forward

Thanks to Kristin over at Knit One Quilt Too, I've joined in on the Pay it Forward exchange!
Craft Mosaic
The idea of the exchange is I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on this blog post requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet, and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise (probably sooner rather than later however)! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog - this means you must have a blog, sorry blogless readers.

Coming from me, your gift could be almost anything handmade! I so look forward to coming up with something just for you. So play along and post a comment! It makes no difference what part of the world you live in either. I'll contact the winners by email and then get their addresses then.

Outtake #2

For obvious reasons most of the outtakes I show you will involve Casey, this one happened while I was attempting to take a Christmas photo.

Sneaky Pumpkins

I'm sneaking this post in just under the wire because starting tomorrow, it's all Christmas around here. I am opposed to decorating for Christmas, stores selling Christmas related items, and holiday songs on the radio before Thanksgiving is over so tomorrow everything is fair game.
That's why I'm so pleased to have finished the harvest pumpkins just this morning! --Just in time to put away until next year...

Hilarious

This is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time...3 Canucks players in the penalty box shoulder to shoulder. Even though we ultimately lost tonight's game, I did get quite a chuckle from this

And then we came home to this! Folks, that's SNOW on the ground! C-R-A-Z-Y. Winter has begun...

Harvest

My harvest pumpkins are almost ready for Thankgiving. Somehow I've lost one of the leaves during the felting process (I hope it's not jammed in the machine somewhere) and the smallest pumpkin in this photo did not felt. It's Koigu, I thought you could felt Koigu - did you know you couldn't felt Koigu? Oh well, no biggie...now I know that no matter how hot the water, I will not felt those Koigu socks that I spend so much time knitting! I'll try to get a finished photo soon but once again the sunshine has not been on my side lately.

Outtake #1

I don't always have perfect photos the first time around and for this I am grateful for digital cameras. This particular photo shoot caught Casey in a compromising position, although it looks as though the photographer (hint: it's me behind the quilt) made sure Casey was in the frame. Stay tuned for more outtakes.

Vegetarians Need Not Read...

This afternoon I made this beef soup. It was good but I think it could be a bit better - maybe with a bit more salt or letting it simmer a little more or possible adding some barley or something to thicken it just a little. I only got a photo of the veggies and meat before roasting due to our extremely short days and my refusal to use a flash.

Another Finished Quilt!

This quilt is so long overdue in the finishing department that I shouldn't even be writing about it. I started this quilt during a class at a local quilt shop which is now closed, The Country Peddler. It must have closed about 5 years ago or so, this tells you how long I've been shuffling thsi quilt top around my craft room. I finally decided the quilt must be completed before I touch anything else and look at it now! It's finished!!

Don't Have Much

I don't have too much to deliver today so I'll just leave you with a photo of Saturday's Sky from last weekend. I plan to do a little crafting this weekend so hopefully the sunlight will cooperate with me so I can snap some photos. Does anyone have fun weekend plans?

November Calendars

Chappysmom has asked everyone to show off their November calendar pages so here I go.

This one is in our kitchen and it is the William Wegman Puppies calendar, it's the one we get every year. It's very hard to resist those little Weimaraner puppies.
Weimaraner Puppies
This one hangs in my craft room and I made it using photos I took throughout the year 2006. I plan to make one again for 2008 since it's been nice to be reminded what was happening each month the previous year. This is the photo I posted last Thanksgiving, it's a turkey made of pipes outside of a local business.

Dominos

When my bookclub gets together, we really only discuss the suggested read for a fraction of the night. And sometimes I even fake that I read the book if I'm not at all interested in it. --I sure hope they don't read this blog-- ;-)
Usually we end up making some new type of martini and play Mexican Train. We always have a fun time playing this domino game. Does anyone else play Mexican Train?

I Need to Lay on the Quilt

Today Casey and I are hanging inside the house since it's so super cold outside (36°), we did make it over to city hall to vote this morning but now we're working on a quilt that's long overdue to be finished. It seems as soon as I spread something out on the floor he needs to lay on top of it but if he's walking, he'll avoid it like the plague.

What is Your Favorite Word to Type?

I love to type the word rewards. I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it's because I type it all with my left hand. That's the only thing I can think of. Do you have a favorite word to type?

Fun with Friends

On Friday, Splatgirl had some friends (including me ;-) over for some fun crafting, a walk with her pup cake and dinner with dessert. And no matter what she says, this cake was good, really good. Thanks for your hospitality Splatgirl!

Five for Fighting

Tonight we went to the MN Wild hockey game but you wouldn't guess that from Kyle's Lacrosse jersey! He was wearing it in protest of the NLL cancellation of the 2008 season but the minute we walked into the stadium we learned that the season is back on! And the Wild won tonight 4-1 over the Flames! Whoo hoo!!

Noses in November

November? Already? It seemed like it was July 4th just weeks ago. Where does the time fly?

My plans for November:
Pin down Christmas gifts, hopefully get them purchased / made by December 1st
Mail Christmas cards the week after Thanksgiving - I've already started taking the photos
Sew a lot on lingering projects
Update my Etsy shop
Make homemade meals at least 3 times each week and at least once on the weekend (do you have any good recipes?)
Exercise - yes I must make this a goal or it doesn't happen, that's how I roll
Blog every day!
What are your plans for November?
