Grandma's Iris

Back in 2003 when my grandmother passed away my mom went to her house before it was sold and dug up a bunch of her flowers and somehow I ended up with quite a few iris'. Over the years they've really taken off and each spring I get more and more blooms. This year when they bloomed I was really excited about this purple one, it reminds me of grandma.

AHEDE Topic of the Week #5

I missed a few of the All Hallow's Eve Dishcloth Exchange Topics but I'm back on track.
This weeks topic :
If you could go anywhere at all to enjoy a wonderful fall vacation - where would you go and why?
Red Leaf
I think I'd probably have to pick somewhere in the Northwest US such as Oregon, Washington or Idaho. I've never been out that direction and from what I've seen in photos it's a lot like Minnesota (with mountains) which I love in the Fall. I can't get enough of all the colors.

My dishcloth pal received her package this week and loved it.

Another prize will be given away tomorrow, get your comments in now!

Pink Pink alllll Pink

I finally planted flowers this past Saturday and these pink daisies are among my favorites.
Did anyone watch the 5th Stanley Cup game last night? Wow, was it a good one...I fell asleep before the 6th period but this morning I promptly flipped to nhl.com to see the results.
Tonight I'm going to start knitting another mini sock for the June swap.
That's all for now.

June 1st

Last night as we exited Target we saw this ominous looking cloud. Target was our last stop so we headed home, following this crazy cloud. When we got home the severe weather sirens were sounding so we stood outside and watched :) Stupid I know but the cloud had just passed us and the weather radio said the severe weather warning had expired in our area. It never did anything but it sure looked strange.
Crazy Clouds 1
I know it's been a long time since I've stopped by here and I'm hoping it won't be that long until the next post...I'm turning a new leaf for June. Lately I've been busy crafting for my etsy store - I updated today, planting flowers, working, watching the LOST finale, I'm newly addicted to Jon & Kate Plus 8 and my 365 project is nearing it's half way point.
I think Summer is finally on it's way although I am really enjoying the mild weather. This Summer I plan to make a quilt for the Quilt of Valor organization, participate in a few small knitting swaps, mountain bike with Kyle, get out a little bit on my motorcycle but generally just relax and enjoy the weather.
See you soon!

Warm Day Off

I was lucky enough to have the day off today especially since it began as a very nice warm and sunny one. The clouds are rolling in and we're expecting storms later on but it was very nice while it lasted. Casey has been outside for 98% of the morning and I'm just relaxing and catching up on things. I think Spring is finally here.

Cracked

Well, it's back to a full work week. I began a new pair of socks Friday afternoon and I'm nearly done with the 1st one so I'll show it to you soon. I'm also planning on finishing a quilt this week so I'll have that to show too. Maybe I post those things here more for myself sort of like a journal, a way to keep track of details. I'm just happy you like to see the stuff :)
Cracked Egg
Most of my week will be filled with these. Gotta love the hard boiled egg.

Can I Keep This Up?

On New Years day I started a project. A 365 photo project - a self portrait every day for 365 days. I am really going to try my hardest to keep this up since I think it will be mighty interesting to look back at it as I ring in 2009. Check out my Flickr site if you're interested in following me throughout the year.

Knitting 2007- A Year in Pictures

Since this is a knitting blog I figured I'd best recap all my finished objects of 2007. It certainly appears that I loved to knit dishcloths and socks. Nothing too substantial but I was busy doing other things in 2007 like making quilts, traveling with Kyle to go mountain biking, hanging out with friends, meeting new friends, reading, working, helping mom & dad with their new house, traveling to Ely MN, going to weddings, motorcycling, walking the dog, going to the racetrack, starting an etsy store, setting up my Ravelry account, trading moo cards, going to Wild games and so much more. Good bye 2007.
Knitting 2007 Mosaic
Tonight we'll be ringing in 2008 at home following our yearly tradition of a Wild hockey game. I hope your 2007 was as fun filled as mine was and here's hoping 2008 exceeds our expectations. Happy New Year!

Moo Swapping

A few weeks ago I decided to start swapping some of my moo mini cards and boy have I gotten some great moos in return! This one happened to be from IL but I've received some from many other places in the US and even some from the UK. I think what I love most about swapping moos is it gives me something to look forward to in the mail!

Outtake #2

For obvious reasons most of the outtakes I show you will involve Casey, this one happened while I was attempting to take a Christmas photo.

Outtake #1

I don't always have perfect photos the first time around and for this I am grateful for digital cameras. This particular photo shoot caught Casey in a compromising position, although it looks as though the photographer (hint: it's me behind the quilt) made sure Casey was in the frame. Stay tuned for more outtakes.

Petals & Stitches

As much as I love to plant new flowers in the Spring, I enjoy getting rid of them to put out the mums and pumpkins for Fall. Today there is definitely a crispness in the air that screams Autumn.
Mums
My etsy store still has some fun things in stock, with this cool air moving in it reminded me that the holidays are right around the corner!

Wouldn't You Like to Know?

I've recently been tagged for the 7 random things about me meme (which I'm working on) and thought maybe there are specific things all 3 of my readers would like to know about me. So go ahead and ask me anything you would like to know. I'll post the answers along with the meme on Friday. Oh gosh...what have I done?? ;-)

MOOoooo

My MOO cards arrived today! Yea! I can't even decide which one is my favorite. And I suppose I should have taken a pic of the back of one but I was too hyper to get a photo of the fronts. So. Fun.

If you have MOO cards too, then you need one of these for sure!!!
