1 Year??!

I just noticed it's been 1 year since I've posted on my blog. I peek over here once in a while but since I keep track of all my knitting on Ravelry (get over there!) it seems redundant to post here too. I'll try to be better at getting a post up here once in a while, OK?
This year I'm trying to knit 12 pairs of socks and read 12 books...my 12 in 2012 project of sorts.
So far, I've finished 2 pairs of socks and 1 book. Not off to a great start but there's still a lot of time left.
So the 1st book I finished was The Hunger Games and I also saw the movie 3 times!! I'm now reading the 2nd book in the series, Catching Fire.
This is the first pair of socks I finished this year, I name them Pink Ribbys.
And my 2nd pair, given to my mom for her birthday. I named them Winter in Ely since I purchased the yarn in Ely, MN in the winter, the color reminds me of winter and my mom's birthday is in the winter.
See you soon!!!

Whoops

I knit this cool pair of socks for Socktoberfest using the mystery pattern by Through the Loops. This pair of socks were going to be my State Fair entry for 2011!! I thought for sure I would have enough Jitterbug yarn to complete the project but, surprise! I ran out. At least my Frankenstein foot is hidden inside of a shoe if I dare wear these outside the house. Aren't these the saddest socks you've ever seen? Nuts.

Stocking Re-Created

I just finished the Christmas stocking I started back in August for a friends nephew. The original knitter of the Christmas stocking was a tricky knitter, she gave me a run for my money as I re-created her masterpiece.
Stocking
I did everything as exact as I could right down to the braided hanger.

Here it is laying next to the original. I hope Nick enjoys the stocking for many years to come!

Sock on My Back

My goal for 2009 is to finish a pair of socks each month and they must all be knit out of my stash. In January I finished this pair and I plan to finish this pinky striped pair in February. I started knitting these socks way back in March of 2008. It's about time I think about finishing them don't you think?

Summer Colors

As tempting as it was to keep this wee sock, I did send it off to my August wee sock swap partner. I thought about these socks as I was making them, reminds me of all the colors of summer. These little wee socks are just the right amount of knitting for what has turned out to be quite a busy summer for me.

Spring Wee Sock

Almost a week ago (gosh, I'm a slacker) my friend Splatgirl hosted a really fun crafty chix brunch. While there, I managed to knit another wee sock for a swap on Ravelry. I kept my mouth shut and my ears opened long enough to concentrate on this project. Usually I'm talking so much I don't get anything accomplished.

Wee Sock

This weekend I knit a wee sock for a swap I signed up for. IMO, this is a great idea for a swap...just a little something for a new pal, we were assigned the pal on Friday and the mailing date is tomorrow. Not enough time to put it off or forget about it and a great way to meet new blog friends. I can't wait to get my wee sock!

I Have a New Pair of Socks!

Mini-Monkeys
Pattern: Monkey by Cookie A
Yarn: Socks That Rock Lightweight
Color: Tidepool
Needles: Size 2 birch dpn's
Started: August 20, 2007
Finished: March 18, 2008
Knit for: Me!
Notes: I didn't do as many repeats on the leg of the sock because I wanted a shorter sock.
They're a little bit too big around, I think a smaller needle would have been better.

Long Overdue

Without looking it up, I can't recall when I started knitting these Monkey socks. I desperately need to finish these so I can move on to another pair. Since I don't have to be back to work until Wednesday next week, I think I can get this task accomplished! Have a great weekend everyone.

Mail Day

Today I had the best surprise in the mail - and it was a good day to receive a package because it's -2ยบ and the mailman delivered all the mail to the door since this parcel didn't fit into the mail box. Chelsea was kind enough to be my sock savior for sockapalooza 4 when my 1st pal flaked on me. And quite a sock savior she was! All this stuff was in the box with the socks she agreed to knit for me, Vesper sock yarn, Yarn Pirate sock yarn, a candle, pencil box, soap and a bead box with needle holders inside. Chelsea, I can't thank you enough for saving me from another year of flaky original sock pals.
Sock Swag
The socks fit GREAT! And I really love the colors.
Sock Savior Socks
I completely flaked blogging about the pay it forward gift I received right before Christmas from Kristin. I adore the felted stocking you sent me and of course all the goodies tucked inside, which are loooong gone.
Pay it Forward gift
For the 3 of you who are waiting for pay it forward gifts from me...they'll be on their way shortly, I'm just finishing up.

Mini-Monkey

I'm knitting myself a pair of Monkey socks with a picot edge. It looks like the edge is far wider than it should be. Does anyone know what I did wrong, if anything? Should I have knit the edge with one size smaller needle?
On another note, I'm using Socks That Rock with Birch needles and it feels like I'm knitting with 'buttah'. Nice, very nice.
