I've Become Unwound
Wow. Other knitters weren't kidding when they mentioned Ravelry takes up a lot of time. I've spent the better part of last night & today loading all my yarn into my stash on Ravelry. It's helped me purge a few things from the stash which I guess is a good thing. If you're interested in looking at the sale yarn go here. And if you've been lucky enough to receive an invitation to Ravelry come and visit me, I need more friends over there. I think I'll go to bed now...

Dish Rag Queen?
This post is for Emily of Yarn Miracle, the creator of Dish Rag Tag. This stack of dish cloths are all in use in my house, there are 15 in the stack although some may have hit the trash bucket soon after this photo was taken. The stack doesn't include the wet one in use at the sink or the few in the laundry. I'm looking forward to starting dish rag tag in August! (sorry, sign ups are closed)

WFDW
Considering I haven't eaten a home cooked meal in quite some time (shame on me) this picnic style dinner qualifies for a What's for Dinner Wednesday meal in my book. So let's take it from the top: A hot dog on a potato bun with mustard, ketchup & celery salt. Cooked in the microwave since I didn't want to start the grill for one piece of meat. You see, Kyle has been training intensely for a mountain bike race he's in at the end of the month so we've been consuming our meals at separate times. OK, back to the plate. Watermelon. A personal size seedless. Very good, although I'm sure it's not as good as the melons Splatgirl has been picking up. I'm pretty certain mine doesn't contain crack or any other illegal substance. ;-) And last on the plate is my very favorite tuna salad. Simply made with white albacore tuna, large ring noodles (not overcooked - very important), white onion, celery and lots of hard boiled egg. Oh! And I'm a Miracle Whip girl. Which way do you swing? Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip...I know this is a touchy subject for some.

Casey and I spent a nice relaxing day together. I did a little sewing and beading, and Casey munched on a bone. See my new etsy listings here.
Isn't it funny how he spreads his legs way out when he's gnawing away? Gotta love the dogs.
Tonight I plan to knit, I'll show progress soon. Thanks for hanging in there with little to no knitting content on my knitting blog!

Hot Dog on a Hot Day
What should we eat for lunch on the hottest day of the summer thus far? Chicago dogs of course. I think the temperature reached 99 this afternoon but I haven't heard an official reading. That's pretty darn hot for MN even though it happens a few times each season.
Kyle & I ventured out to Uncle Franky's this afternoon and greeting us at the door was this super duper cool hot dog handle. And check out the little piggy too, very clever indeed.
And of course I had to photograph the dog itself. I think after this summer I'll have a nice collage of chicago dog and pedicure photos.

Hot Toes in the Summertime
Staying true to my "getting a pedicure every few weeks" rule this summer, today was the day. I almost didn't make it after losing my check card sometime last night while out on the motorcycle, but lo and behold there's this green stuff called cash that worked just fine. Who knew. I think I've gotten way too dependent on that check card. Today I chose the color "My Chihuahua Bites", a sort of pinky orange color. And since I've linked my toes to books in the other 2 posts, today I was reading A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. Very interesting indeed.
Enjoy your hot hot weekend everyone!

Knitting Will Resume Shortly
I'm back!!! Did you even notice I haven't been around much? Last weekend we traveled south with some friends to LaCrosse Wisconsin for a 12 hour mountain bike endurance race that Kyle competed in. It was a gorgeous weekend and we're looking forward to the next one at the end of the month. Knitting completed: 4 rounds on my monkey sock for sockapalooza.
This past weekend we headed north to Turtle Lake Wisconsin for a weekend with friends and fish. Kyle managed to catch a few fish but all I managed was catching a bit of sunburn on my knees. It would have been helpful to throw a line in the water...but I didn't get a license. I was there for moral support. Knitting completed: Zero
And newly adopted last week to a couple at the lake cabin is Oliver, an Italian Greyhound / Beagle mix. Trust me, he didn't drink all that beer by himself ;-)
