Quite a few people wondered what yarn I was using for the Saartje's bootees. I began knitting them with a medium tweedy green Rowan Cashcotton DK (on the bottom in this photo) but I'm thinking I may switch to a lighter green yarn, the Cashsoft DK (on the top). Any opinions? The baby's gender is unknown, both yarns are machine washable, the Cashcotton is a bit less spongy than the Cashsoft.

I like the top one - more "baby-like". But that's just my opinion.
I like the top one too!
I vote for the softer green on top, too. :-)
I like the softer green, plus cushier yarn is always better in my book.
I almost want to say the bottom one, Cashcotton for the cotton factor but I equally LOVE these both!
first: i vote the top one.
second: i haven't used a plastic bag from ANY store in over 4 months. i have a giant purse, so usually if i'm just picking up one or two things i'll throw them in there. for bigger shopping trips, i do my best to remember to bring my own bags. recently on a trip to a c moore, i forgot... but they were having a huge sale on baskets! so i just bought a huge basket and carried my stuff out in that :) i think these bags are a great idea though, i'll make one or two, they'll smoosh into a corner of my purse really easily!
i still get looked at like an alien when i tell people i don't need a bag!
